Michigamme Museum
At the Michigamme Museum, you can visit the "Anatomy of a Murder" display. Additionally, the Museum has an exhibit
devoted to telling the Ford story and you can check out the 1900 Steamer on display.
The museum is open Memorial Day through September 30th from noon - 5:00 PM
The Michigamme Historical Museum, located at 110 W. Main Street, has exhibits devoted to telling the story of the community.
The museum has a collection of over 125 years of history through artifacts, antiques and memorabilia. The Michigamme
Museum is open Memorial Day through September 30 from 12-5 PM.
Guided tours or special showings by appointment. Call 906-323-9016 or 906-323-6608. There is no admission fee to visit.
However, if you wish to support the museum, donations are accepted and memorials are available.
The first Moose Lift took place in Michigamme in 1985. During a 10 day period, 19 cows and 10 bull moose were captured from
Algoquin Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada, and released just north of Michigamme on the Peshekee Grade. During the
"Moose Lift II", 15 cows and 15 bulls were again relocated in 1987.
